Brillantmont International School
Av. Charles Secrétan 16, 1005 Lausanne Direction : Anne FreiBrillantmont is situated in the centre of Lausanne in an attractive, leafy park and can be easily accessed by the Metro or bus no 7 or 13.
The school provides a challenging education in an international environment with students from over 30 nationalities. In the boarding school, students live in houses according to age and gender and are cared for by resident teachers who maintain a family atmosphere. A resident house master and house mistress are responsible for the boarding school and are always available. Day students may also board at the school from time to time, should their parents need to be absent.
Brillantmont is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (www.cois.org / www.neasc.org).
A student-led house system for day students and boarders helps everyone feel at home and part of the Brillantmont community, thanks to the weekly house meeting and inter-house events and competitions organised. Peer mentoring helps new students settle in more easily.
Brillantmont is the only school in the Vaud region which offers a British IGCSE and A Level programme. This allows students to enter universities all over the world.
Students may prefer to choose the American Programme leading to the High School Graduation Diploma. The small size of the school means that every student has a personalised timetable, which develops his/ her strengths. The school also organises a summer course in July and August to learn French or English with sports and activities.
Class sizes are limited to fifteen, with an average of twelve so students receive a lot of teacher attention. Technology plays an important role and our interactive website allows students and parents to access their classwork and homework online and to keep abreast of the progress made, thanks to the daily gradebook.
The school encourages all students to follow an extra-curricular activity - a sports team, a creative activity or something such as Model United Nations or Habitat for Humanity, which develops leadership skills and humanitarian awareness. A new multi-purpose hall, completed in 2012, offers a wide range of sports - volleyball, hockey, badminton, basketball, football, gym in the centre of the campus, along with a performance space. Excursions, open to day and boarding students are organised every weekend.
